On October 8th, 9th 2026, SBI Funds Management and Amundi jointly hosted the inaugural India Investment Seminar 2026 in Mumbai, bringing together over 100 international investors from 15 countries to engage directly with leading Indian policymakers, economic scholars, and corporate leaders.

The two days of high quality sessions featured an impressive line-up of speakers: Chief Economic Adviser, Dr. V. Anantha Nageswaran, SBI Chairman C. S. Setty Amitabh Kant, Dr. Michael Patra, and senior leaders from India’s most dynamic companies including Maruti Suzuki, Nykaa, Meesho, Urban Company, Fractal and Invest India.

The presentation and panel discussions allowed participants to gain an in-depth understanding of India’s economic transformation and long-term investment trajectory. The seminar reaffirmed a central insight: India’s growth story is not only one of scale, speed and resilience, but one that is increasingly shaped by structural reforms, productivity gains, and sustained momentum across manufacturing, consumption, financial inclusion, and the energy transition.

The long term partnership between Amundi and State Bank of India, through SBI Funds Management, provides global investors a unique access point, combining deep domestic market knowledge with global investment reach to interpret India’s evolution and access this long-term opportunity.

Key Takeaways

  1. India’s macroeconomic resilience is strengthening, with GDP growth above 7% for 3 consecutive years despite major supply shocks over the last years, reflecting durable domestic demand, disciplined policy making and broad-based structural momentum.

  2. Structural reforms and productivity drivers are reshaping India’s next decade, from accelerated manufacturing and evolving global supply chains to the rapid expansion of world class infrastructure and the transformative role of digital innovation (i.e. Unified Payment Interface).

  3. India’s investment opportunity now spreads across multiple engines of growth, including consumption, financial inclusion, digitalisation, AI, manufacturing, and the energy transition, offering investors diversified long-term themes rather than a single macro or thematic narrative.

  4. Global investor interest is deepening, demonstrated by the strong international audience and the quality of engagement with policymakers and corporate leaders. India’s position in global portfolios is evolving from “high growth emerging market” to a “strategic long-term allocation”.
